2010 Best of Music List

Buke-And-Gass-Riposte.jpg

At long last my best music of the year list. It took me forever to get it done (I say this as if there were tons of people just dying to read it). I was about half way through it when this past weekend’s sadness stopped me cold. I have done this list two years in a row (click here for those lists) and never really written about my process. I actually go through and listen to every album I bought during the year again. I only consider albums that have a US release date in 2010. So I don’t actually pull from everything I bought just new releases. The same rule applies for my favorite songs. So, of course, the list is limited to music I actually thought enough about to buy in the first place . This year that amounts to 65 albums and 753 total songs (this is why it can take me some time to compile this list). It is of course entirely my opinion and if you have any suggestions for albums you loved not on my list leave it in the comments or drop me a note on Twitter. I am always looking for new music.

Normally I make this list out in no particular order but this year that isn’t totally true. The top 3 were far and away my favorites this year.

About csdaley

C.S. Daley was born in California but has spent most of his life in his imagination. His first short story written in third grade, the now classic "Close Encounters of the Turd Kind," was sold to his next door neighbor for a quarter. The neighbor promptly demanded a refund. An unhealthy obsession with the writings of Neil Gaiman, Christopher Moore, and Terry Pratchett have left his mind warped and broken. He spends most of his evening swilling down coffee while tapping at a keyboard under the watchful eyes of his kittens. They are there to make sure he doesn't snap. He likes to write fantasy for adults and teens.
